Impressionnisme is one of remarkable achievement in the history of landscape painting. Landscape started to be focused on from 17th century, until then it was behind the subject of Bible or of myths. To the way of Impressionnisme, there are many important indispensable artists, such as Camille Corot (1796-1857) who visited various places to pursue the best place for the landscape painting, artists of Barbizon school who were fascinated by nature and gathered at village of Barbizon, Eugène Boudin (1824-1898) who was master of painting sky or air and influenced Claude Monet (1840-1926) to paint outside of atelier.

The exhibition introduce the history of landscape, started from Achille-Etna Michellon (1796-1822), Corot, Boudin, to Monet, Camille Pissarro (1830-1903), Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919) and many other artists sourced from the important collection of musée des Beaux-Arts de Reims. The exhibition will survey the establishment of landscape painting in 19th century in France.
